Another Pastor from Tabernacle of Influence Church in Lusaka has been arrested for being in possession of K5million of counterfeit notes.
Drug Enforcement Commission Public Relations Manager John Nyawali has confirmed the development to Flava Fm News.
Mr. Nyawali stated that Pastor Quincy Edmond Kakompe, 30, was arrested from Long Acres area after he was found with the counterfeits on his body.
He stated that Pastor Kakompe who was also carrying a Bible at the time of his arrest had the counterfeit Kwacha in Fifty thousand denominations.
He was arrested together with Francis Mwela, a freelance Cameraman.
Pastor Kakompes arrest comes few days after two other Pastors from Bethel City Church in Lusaka were arrested in separate incidents for being in possession of over 70,000 US dollars of counterfeit notes.
Mr. Nyawali stated that the Commission is saddened with clergymen who are perpetuating criminal activities as this is bringing the name of the church into disrepute.
He has since appealed to Pastoral bodies to consider vetting Pastors before they are ordained.
And commenting on the arrests, Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza described the development as unfortunate.
Reverend Mwanza advised clergymen and Christians to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and avoid undue pressure that would make them engage in criminal activities as it tends to misrepresent the work they do.
He encouraged pastors and believers countrywide to desist from temptations that may cause them to engage in any form of criminal activity.
